[Indications]Pharyngitis,scarlet fever,and erysipelas produced by group-A Streptococcus pyogenes.Acute
or chronic diphtheria bacillus carrier state.It must be stressed
that in the acute disease,ERYTHROMYCIN does not alter the
course of the infeciton or the risk of complications,
and a proper dose of specific antitoxin must be asministered.
Syphilis in penicillin sensitive persons.Clostridium tetani is susceptible to erythromycin
suspension,howere antitoxin must be given
simultaneously in cases of tetanus.Erythromycin is effective in the therapy of
Pneumonia due to Myco;pasma
pneumonia.In gonorrhoea,Erythromycin is a suitable substitute in
penicillin-allergic patients.
[Dosage and Directions for Use]
Adults:250mg every 6 hours before meal.
In severe infections this dose may be doubled and continued for
up to two or even three weeks.
Children :30mg/kg weight daily in divided doses every 6 hours before meals.
In severe infections these doses may be doubled and continued for up to 10 days.
To reconstitute:Add 70ml water and shake well until granules are dissolved.
NOTE:Treament should be continued until the bottle is empty unless otherwise
instructed by the physician.
Once reconstituted,the suspension remains stable fot 5 days at room temperature
and for 10 days in a refrigerator. |
