Composition
Each bottle contains Paracetamol 1 g.
Indication
Paracetamol is used extensively in the treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.
Pain: Paracetamol is used to provide temporary analgesia in the treatment of mild to moderate pain.
The drug is most effective in relieving low intensity pain of non visceral origin.
Fever:Paracetamol is used frequently to lower body temperature in febrile patients in whom fever may be deleterious or in whom considerable relief is obtained when fever is lowered. However, antipyretic therapy is generally nonspecific, does not influence the course of the underlying disease, and may obscure the patient’s illness.
Administration and Dosage
I.V infusion within 15 minutes. Every 4 hours between two infusion times. Minors adults more than 50 kg of body weight:1 g/ once (=1 bottle 100ml),dosage can be increased to 4 times/day.
Maximum dosage can be 4 g paracetamol/day.
Children more than 3kg of body weight (about 11 years old),minors adults less than 50 kg of body weight: 15mg/kg/time (=1.5ml solution/1kg),maximum dosage can be 60 mg paracetamol/1kg/day.
Contra-indications
Repeated administration of paracetamol is contraindicated in patients with anemia or cardiac,pulmonary,renal,or hepatic disease.
Patients with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol.
Patients with known glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
Adverse and side effects
Skin rash and other allergic reactions occur occasionally.The rash is usually erythematosus or urticarial, but sometimes it is more serious and may be accompanied by drug fever and mucosal lesions.Patients who show hypersensitivity reactions to the salicylates only rarely exhibit sensitivity to paracetamol and related drugs. In a few isolated cases, the use of paracetamol has been associated with neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and pancytopenia.
